The Trail
Montserrat is a black sand island because of its volcanic affiliation. Rendezvous Bay is a unique hidden gem — the ONLY white sand beach on the island, and one of the prettiest spots you'll find. The only way in on foot is over the hill from Little Bay, and that walk is half the reward.
We climb up and over the saddle, and as you look back the whole coast opens up beneath you, with the green Centre Hills behind. It is one of the best spots on the island for a photograph. Then down we go to the beach itself — calm, clear water that is lovely for a swim or a snorkel, and quiet white sand made for relaxing.
“Very knowledgeable about the natural history of the island, especially birds and plants. What separates Scriber is his attention to detail and safety — some of our party were older and he went above and beyond. Great personality, a lot of fun.”— Mewilliams2
What makes it special
Rendezvous Bay is the one white sand beach on a black sand island, and one of its loveliest.
Look back over Little Bay and the whole coast as you climb the saddle.
The green heart of the island, laid out behind you on the way up.
Calm, clear water and nearby reefs make it perfect for a swim, a snorkel, or a quiet family day.

The fine print
Before you go
Wear
Walking shoes for the climb, with your swimwear on underneath.
Bring
Water, sunscreen, a hat, a towel, and a camera. There is little shade and no facilities at the beach, plus snorkel gear if you have it. We encourage guests to bring their own hiking sticks.
Children
Lovely for families, but it is a steep little climb, so best for children who can manage a short uphill walk.
Weather
Sunny and exposed, so sun protection and water matter. The trail can be slippery after rain.
